Why do I need to
use PocketWizard? |
|
|
|
If you
develop softwares for Windows Mobile and
you want the end-users to download your
software directly to their Windows
Mobile devices you have two options: to
deliver the uncompressed cab files, or
use a compressed and friendly setup
package generated by PocketWizard.
Delivering cab files has many problems
including: a large size because these
files are not compressed and you allow
the end-user to install your software
without an EULA.
PocketWizard solves all problems with
cab files, and help the end-users
allowing them to select the destination
directory.
If the end-user wants to install your
software to a storage card, he/she needs
to use a third-party tool to do it,
except if you use PocketWizard to
generate your setup packages. |

What is
Over-the-Air? |
|
|
|
Over-the-Air is a technology that
simplifies the way application are
delivered to customers. Over-the-Air
allows downloading of Windows Mobile
applications to users' device without
wires or additional hardware, so the
users do not need a desktop PC.
If you do not use PocketWizard, the
unique way to deliver your software for
over-the-air downloading is to deliver
the Cab files, but the main problem is
cab files' size. But, if you use
PocketWizard, you can generate
compressed setup packages that will help
your customers to download your software
over-the-air without needing a desktop
PC. |

What can I do with
Trial version? |
|
|
|
Trial
version is fully functional, but you
cannot use it commercially. Setup
packages generated by this version are
also fully functional but display
message indicating that the setup
package was generated by a trial
version. To get rid this message

PocketWizard. |

What Windows
Mobile
devices are supported by PocketWizard? |
|
|
|
PocketWizard supports all released
Windows Mobile devices including Pocket
PC 2003, Pocket PC 2002, Pocket PC 2000,
H/PC 2000, Palm-size PC, H/PC Pro. You
must sign the generated setup programs

|
|
|
|
 |
Does the generated
setup package work on all Windows Mobile devices? |
|
|
|
Every setup
package is generated for a specific
processor (ARM, MIPS, SH3, SH4 or X86)
and can be run only on Windows Mobile
devices based on this processor. This
rule is also true for cab files, because
each cab file is built for a specific
processor.
It also depends on the screen size you
have selected in your PocketWizard
project. Full Screen is only support by
Pocket PC's, but Horizontal Screen and
Vertical Screen are supported by all
Windows Mobile devices. |
